What's Inside the Closet?

What's Inside the Closet? is a puzzle platformer where the player controls a young girl named Mia as she journeys through the terrifying world inside her closet to retrieve a stolen toy. The game's primary mechanic features the use of a flashlight to illuminate and destroy shadowy objects, as well as various keys that the player must collect to bypass corresponding doors.

VFX Samples

I believe that good visual effects are an integral part of effective UX design, particularly when it comes to creating satisfying feedback for the player. These are some sample visual effects that I created in Unity with assets that I created using Photoshop and Maya.

Rush - Kinesthetic Flow

Rush is and imagined third-person superhero action game that was the basis for this project where I developed a satisfying kinesthetic experience to simulate the feeling of a hero with superspeed.

For this project, I took heavy inspiration from how speedster superheroes where portrayed in popular media, such as The Flash TV show and Quicksilver in the X-Men movie series. I also looked at how speedster characters where portrayed in other games, such as Gauss from Warframe. I focused heavily on the camera and particle effects, creating a stark contrast between when the player was not using superspeed compared to when they were.
